Today, I was woken up by a fire alarm. As usual in these situations, I fled to the lab, and decided to struggle with the project that still isn't working. Shortly after I started, my parents arrived unexpectedly in St Andrews. They came to tell Jamie and I that Brian, the uncle that I mentioned had gone missing some weeks ago, has been found dead at the side of a canal in Falkirk.

So overall it hasn't really been the best of mornings.
