CTF, but in real life

This album cover settles it - Yngwie Malmsteen is the most pretentious musician to have ever lived. Trouble is, I've downloaded a couple of things by him and they're actually really good.

Today, I had planned to map out the University network for the CS3102 Death-Practical. Instead, I found myself running around a forest being shot at. Amanda, of the ChemSoc that I betrayed by switching to CS, had convinced me the previous night to come along on the paintballing trip. I'd never done anything like it before, and while enjoyable, a surprising amount of pain is involved whenever one of the paint-filled plastic marbles strikes you.

It was also a bit frightening being told the safety regulations, such as when we were casually told when collecting our paint grenades "Don't hold on to those for too long, or they'll kill you." However, cowering behind trees while projectiles zoom past your ears is a lot more fun than it sounds, and perhaps unsurprisingly, taking a flag back to base in real life feels even better than it does in Unreal Tournament.
