One of the good things about Die Hard films, that differentiated them from other action films (or even franchises) was the level of claustrophobia. Die Hard 1 was entirely in one building and its grounds, and that gave the film a unique feel. I liked Die Hard 3's wild tour around NYC because it fit in with the other key theme of Die Hard films; John McClane is just a cop who has very bad luck in being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't get this vibe from what I've seen from Die Hard 4; he seems to be very professional about it.
