(no subject)

I'm sitting here in the John Honey Building after finishing a lecture exercise in C. I just wanted to say that I particularly liked this little instruction:

"Run the program simply with the command gcc -g -o tm test_fmax.c fmax.c"

It sort of works better if you say it out loud...

In the old days that would have been fine. Ye've been pampered by Windows. In my day we had to write it in binary. Ourselves. Using punchcards. And you could get seven yachts and a house in the south of France with change left over from a fiver. But computers costed more than the earth. Oh, kids these days don't know they're born. Soon ye'll all be sending emails from inside the womb. Then ye'll procrastinate the bloody birth and we won't get born. They'll say 'does the world have a GUI'? No? Well, I'm staying in here with Windows Ninety-Gestate then. Och, bloody, grumble, grumble.

(but seriously, ick, and waves of gladness at not doing your subject...)
