Stumbling through Action 52 - Part 3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCNnC6LkCvg&hd=1

A slightly-longer special wherein I play 14 games instead of 11, mostly in order to speed the whole process along a bit and get it over with. I crack up a record number of times during these videos, just due to not believing what I'm seeing in front of me.

The press release/video store advert can be found here!

Have you never actually played The Cheetamen? . . .Oh, I guess I haven't, either, actually.

Hey, there must be at least 3 1/2 whole good games on this cart!. . er, 3 1/2 whole, playable, it-looks-like-an-actual-game, games in there! So at just $25 a game, well, it's still pretty hard to justify. They maybe coulda gotten away with $25 for The Cheetamen

Hah, I love how their press release just says "phenomenal" without mentioning who said it or in what context. :P

You are now realising manually that there is an alternate universe where the Cheetahmen were more popular than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. :P

Doubtful. Without spoiling too much, The Cheetahmen isn't even the best/most entertaining/high quality (well ... okay, how about "least bad") game in the collection. The only reason $25 for The Cheetahmen by itself wouldn't be an even bigger ripoff than $200 for the entirety of Action 52, is because of the numbers involved; being out $200 just feels a lot worse than being out $25 no matter what you get in return. Per capita, it actually probably would be.

I mean, let's do the math: if you multiply by 8, that would turn into $200 for eight games that are roughly on par with The Cheetahmen ... as opposed to Action 52, which is $200 for 52 games that are roughly on par with The Cheetahmen.

There's actually a release of Action 52 for the Sega Genesis- 51 entirely new games that look and play much better, and there is now 52nd game- Action 52 for the Sega Genesis only had 51 games on it, and they were mostly puzzle games.
