Stumbling through Action 52 - Part 4

It's Part 4, and I swear they're getting worse. Actually, this has some... 'interesting' games among the general dribble - they are at least not just space shoot-em-ups and plain platformers, and at least one is set in another dimension. Unfortunately they are still equally dreadful.

I think I found the source of that cacophonous title "music".

Also, the program Mr. Noseybonk's from? Jigsaw.

(EDIT: As you can probably guess, I made this post prior to the point in the video where you figured it out.)

Probably because A) it was poorly-looped and B) the game was a complete flop.

If it had been better quality and this abomination had been a market success, I think it'd be a safe bet that a lawsuit would have occurred...so maybe it was for the best that this thing tanked.

I feel compelled - for the record - to point out that there's nothing wrong with werewolves in tightie-whities. I'm sure Susi will back me up on this point. :P

Also, as it's vaguely related to this project, have you seen the... I hesitate to call it a remake, but the... attempt to make a decent fanmade (?) version that someone did of Streemerz? It's almost like the sort of quality Action 52 promised all its games would be like, and looks almost like it'd be fun.

I've played that before! It was great. :D

There was a gigantic fan project a while ago called "Action 52 Owns" (which should clue you in on how long ago we're talking) that sought to remake every game on that cart into something good. It was a mixed result in terms of completion (some were finished before the whole project just sort of stopped, others weren't) and quality. Some of the new games are ... well, graphically and musically light-years ahead of course, but arguably even less fun to actually play. On the other hand, others are fantastic, and really do redeem the game on which they're based. Streemerz was by far and away the crown jewel of that collection, but I remember the new Meong being excellent, as well. And the new Alfredo, that one obviously needs polish (which will never happen now, at this rate) but I had fun with it.

Edit: I made myself curious to try some of those A52O remakes out again after writing this, but I didn't get any farther than Meong because it's amazing and has completely consumed my soul. I'm sure some of the others are probably lovely too but MEONG. Meong.
