Iron Maiden! Excellent!

First of all, thanks to Paul for the lift and for being my guide around Glasgow. It's not the kind of place you want to be alone in.

Let's run through a list of my aches and pains... My feet hurt from jumping up and down on them, as much to get a better view than anything else; my eyes are still trying to readjust themselves after being exposed to the lighting effects; I haven't tried speaking yet today, though I'm pretty certain that I can't thanks to the singing; and I can hear very little because of the ringing in my ears (as you would expect, the performance was rather loud). But was it worth it? Oh, yes.

Setlist, then, or what I can remember of it... Doctor Doctor, Wildest Dreams, One of the Hunted, Can I Play With Madness, The Trooper, Dance of Death, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Brave New World, Paschendale (the sound broke down during that one the first time, which was rather amusing), Rainmaker Fear of the Dark, No More Lies, Lord of the Flies, and of course the obligatory Iron Maiden. They performed their usual disappearing trick then came back to play Journeyman, Number of the Beast and Run To The Hills to finish off with, while Janick Gers fought off a large reaper Eddie. I think that's everything... It was shorter than I was expecting, but not tragically short. Anyway, if it had been longer I think my knees would have given way.

My only regret was that I didn't manage to meet up with danbodaxter in the end, thanks to a number of problems with the car, an inability to use the mobile phone (we had a couple of conversations which mostly consisted of me yelling "Hello?" in to it and trying to hear anything back) and the difficulty of not knowing anything about Glasgow. Still, there will be another time, I hope.

I should be in a lecture, but I'm not! Hah. I doubt I'll miss anything too vital, such as "We've decided this week's practical is ridiculously hard, don't bother with it."
