Generic Election Results Post #94
Nov. 3rd, 2004 09:20 amForgetting about that "non-melodramatic" thing for the moment, I'm most disappointed in America. This election is the first that I've followed in which I feel the result matters to me as well as people that I know and care about. Last night I was convinced that Kerry would have by the morning achieved a reasonable lead over Bush, and instead there was the entire day of waiting followed by the inevitable news at the end of it. I must have grossly underestimated the concentration of stupid people per state.
I'm upset by this, but by tomorrow it won't even matter. The world will carry on in the same way as it did before, and America will have missed the opportunity to dethrone one of the greatest dangers to the world.
Maybe it's time for Britain to run the world again.
