Doctor Rabbitnik
Jul. 8th, 2011 07:20 pmAlready I'm beginning to have quite busy weekdays, but when I got home today after a successful demonstration, I received one of the best things I've seen in recent memory.
lupineangel produced this incredible rendering of the last bonus boss (which I've put behind a cut-down preview in case you're one of the people playing through it just now and want it to be a surprise):

I love the interpretation of everything from the game - from the slightly mechanical look of the boss itself with the crystal orbs, to the background with the blue cliffs. It reminds me so much of the drawings that you used to get in game manuals in the 90s, where the artists could really use their imaginations to bring the graphics to life in ways that the hardware of the time couldn't manage - and for a game inspired by that era, it's the ultimate compliment to have something like this.
And it made me realize that I hadn't showcased
dr_dos's contribution yet - he commissioned this adorable version of a couple of the characters. Getting fanart like this is a reward that I honestly hadn't considered as a possibility for the work that I put into this game, but it's a very welcome thing to have indeed. Huge amounts of thanks go to both of them!
