I was asked for this picture last year

Living at ground level for the first time since moving to America, we actually had people come round to our house this year! Whitney put on some tiger stripes, and I went back to the scarier of my two attempts at costumes over previous years:



Even though we had at least sixteen times the visitors we've had in previous years, it was still comfortably quiet - we had some children in superhero costumes or quite adorable miniature lions, and one where I wasn't quite sure what he was meant to be, but he looked like he had his own gravitational pull and took five sweets. They all seemed most surprised at the appearance of an actual guitar, rather than a replica with coloured buttons on it.

I shuffled around with the guitar, played until my rarely-used amp gave up in disgust and handed out sweets at the door, while Whitney took in some programme about people being beaten to death with hammers. Then we closed the door, turned on Gojira and watched some Japanese people in black and white running away from a dinosaur less convincing than one that you might find at the bottom of a box of Wheaties.

To address some remarks made by marauding zombies and ghosts throughout the evening, I feel that I should make this clear with a list:

Now I feel bad for comparing you to DC ;) The Scottish local accent nuances are lost on me, though!

It was you! I knew somebody had said that to me before last night :) To be fair, on this list it is the best guess, and has the almost unique distinction of being from the right country.
