I vaguely remember there being more than that though! Oof, I wish I had time to check just now, but I do know that once you start getting beyond that point there's various hints that pop up semi-spontaneously about what you're supposed to be doing here and there, and as soon as you pick up on one trail you get led toward the places you're meant to find the next parts. Now, if you fail to write down some important coördinates and then have no idea where to go, or if you can't solve puzzles that tell you how to connect the dots/stars, then you have a problem, yes. Even in the early game though I think just trying to explore the universe is enough—the hints start coming to you once you get far enough away from your base to get into random encounters…
