I think I'm doing a lot more than usual for a summer holiday rather than just sitting around at home. A couple of days ago we visited Stonehaven to meet up with Alan, one of my mum's friends... I didn't think I'd recognise him as I'd only met him once before when I was 12, but his voice sounded familiar to me, even though I don't think I would have recognised his face. The Christian coffee shop is rather nice, they don't try and convert you or anything, although when I ordered "hot chocolate with marshmallows" I did expect to get more than two of them. Still, it did what it said on the tin. The menu, rather.

We had a quick round of putting - hadn't done that in ages. I got in to golf at the wrong time, that is my interest in it waned before I got to St Andrews. Still, it's always something I can start again. Unfortunately I forgot to bring the camera, so I didn't get a photo of the great sign that read "Somerfield Customer Car Park - Next Left" with an arrow pointing decisively to the right. Well, I found it funny, anyway.

And yesterday it was a day trip to Landmark, the forest heritage park (at least, that's what it says on the map) near Inverness. I managed to damage my legs coming down the near-vertical waterslide, I can hardly move this morning. Why else would I be typing all of this out?

Today, though, Collieston was our destination. I hadn't been there much ever since my brother split his knee open on one of the rocks ages ago, but we had a good time there, just like old times. Especially with the sandcastle-building - Richard had the ingenious idea of building one with a rock in the centre then writing "KICK FOR PRIZE" in huge letters in the sand.
