davidn: (good)
This song's been mentioned in people's LiveJournals twice this week, so I thought I'd feature it as well.

The Union was pretty good... beat the Gunblade machine on Hard with Paul after spending about £6 between us in it. Also had a few tries at Thrill Drive 2 again, and lost some air hockey games. More surprisingly, I also won a couple, and got a blister on my right middle finger from playing it... Other activities included tearing bits of paper to pieces, and then Richard tried to set fire to them. We had a discussion about films, Mad Max, etc, where Richard was rather witty for a change, then headed back to the Hall via KFB's, where we were going to watch a film but apathy prevailed once again.

Played Quake for the first time in a while, against nova. He's almost "OMG AIMBOT!!!1" standard, though I was just beginning to get the upper hand near the end with a few consecutive kills. Violence in games never used to bother me, really, but it's starting to now - especially when I remembered that you could chainsaw people's heads off in Unreal Tournament. Ooh... nasty. We're going to have to convince more people to play it, it's a classic... although if you ask me Doom is in some ways better. The weapons are hideously unbalanced for multiplayer, though.

And now I'm typing out the answers to a 149-part questionnaire. Well, it beats work. And there haven't been a lot of good quotes from the chatroom for ages. Be more funny, the lot of you.

Iron Savior's managed to improve my vocabulary quite a bit thanks to their dodgy translations.

Nothing much worthy of mention has happened today in real life yet, apart from me actually doing some revision and lunch being terrible. But at Andrew Melville Hall, that's not exactly news.

More importantly, despite him being about five years younger than me, [livejournal.com profile] danbodaxter showed me how to change the comment links in the journal after I couldn't wrap my head round it. Thanks for that. I went through several ideas before settling on the current ones.

1 soul saved | Don't you think I could save you?

- It's from The Angel and The Gambler, but I get the feeling that people would just think I was being holier-than-thou (again).

1 Watcher | Give your life for the Iron Savior dream

- Only about four people out of the massive fanbase who read this journal - well... maybe - would understand it. (They're lyrics from Watcher in the Sky. Now you know.)

1 Titan of Our Time | Be unified

- The plural wouldn't work, and the "comment" link is a bit daft.

1 Flibble | Talk to Henry the magic walrus

- Let's just never speak of this one again. I never said I liked the way my mind works.

1 Altered Beast | Rise from your Grave!

- I sort of like this one, but Altered Beast isn't exactly very popular and I can't think of a good first link.

1 set up us the bomb | What you say?

- I can't use this one because I just copied it off Anna.

1 watcher of illusion | Enter the castle of confusion

- Knightmare, of course. But the plural wouldn't work.

1 evil dream | Damn the machine

- I like this one. Even if you don't know the Gamma Ray song it makes sense, but might sound a bit "goth".

1 immortal Sinner | Follow me

- Yes, I'm reading through the No World Order booklet for inspiration. "Eagle" doesn't have any good possibilities for second links, though.

Think I'll just stick with the Damn The Machine one, it makes the most sense at the moment. And combine it with "Immortal Sinners" after the chatroom.
