Yes, Oli finally convinced me to run a firewall on my computer. I'm not sure how effective it will be, or whether I've locked myself out of everything accidentally, but we'll see. I used to _know_ about computers, and now I feel that I really don't understand them at all. Everything I learned just became out of date... but at least I can get DOS games to work.

Playing "Cranium" last night was fun, that was a good purchase, Fiona. It's a relief to already have most of my week's work out the way - the Computing practical was the most pointless thing I've ever been asked to do (apart from the accompanying tutorial).

The Computing tutorial was rather good, though, we have a tutor who's new to St Andrews. He reminds me a lot of one of my old English teachers - Mr Cybulski. (Remember him, Sleigh?)

Also, I found an interview with Piet Sielck (frontman of Iron Savior) in the wide world of the Internet. The man has a unique take on English - usually he speaks it very well with a slight "We meet again, Mr Bond" accent, but occasionally he'll spontaneously come up with ingenious invented phrases like "For a change in between", or "monotonously as hell". Which I find rather amusing.
