I remembered this time to be away from the hall between 10:45 and 11:15 to miss the fire alarm tests. I saw Ruth on the way as well, and I hadn't seen her for ages... probably the last time was at the ceilidh near the start of the year. Breakfast isn't the same any more :(

Actually, I keep missing breakfast now, I should get back in to a better routine. I ended up staying up till about 2 o'clock last night - that might be relatively normal for some people in the hall, but certainly not when you have regular 9 o'clock starts.

Must revise. After lunch. I'll keep typing for now. So what else is there to say? I seem to be missing the pens from my wallet. And you know me, I always have to have a pen about my person... or as Red Dwarf said, always having a pen is one of the steps to becoming a "total smeghead".

What happened to the days when I could write out 1000-word long LJ entries without difficulty? It seems I can't say much nowadays that isn't duller than that quiz Al did about the London Underground. That'll hopefully change soon, though, as I've decided that I will, after all, go and see Whitney down in Oxford. The disadvantage of travelling by coach is that it'll take literally half a day, but it's so much easier than flying. My arms would get tired.

During last night I was introduced to Nightwish, who seem to be great. I haven't heard much by them - just a couple of samples from their site - but like Iron Savior before them, just those 30-second clips have got me interested. I may well have to take a closer look at them (or listen, or whatever you like). And they've done a cover version of "Walking in the Air", which instantly makes them great <¦-D

Now, I'd better go and wash all the sand out of my ruler. See previous entries for how this situation could possibly have come about.

Well, I said that I would revise after lunch. Here's a log of what I actually got done.

13:00 Get back from lunch.

13:05 The e-mail checking cycle commences.

13:20 Decide I'd better get around to booking tickets for going to Oxford.

13:37 Phone National Express to ask why their website isn't working.

13:42 Discover a fatal flaw after much bus timetable-searching: There are no buses from Edinburgh to St Andrews after about six in the evening. This is a very major setback to the coach plan.

13:50 Look at Easyjet instead. Plan out a journey that seems to work, but I'll check it again before booking.

14:00 Begin re-reading a few things on my computer while simultaneously watching the chatroom, though sadly nothing to do with CS2101, or even computer science at all, really.

15:35 Turn off computer.

15:53 Realise that I've been staring at a blank page pondering the origins of the Universe for nearly twenty minutes. Try to focus on notes instead.

15:56 Begin BST and map revision.

16:05 Realise that I have just said the words "And you wonder why, don't you?" out loud to no one in particular. I am cracking up.

16:14 Discover a doodle in my notes depicting a man riding a bathtub on wheels down a hill. I don't remember drawing it.

16:45 Read notes on Warshall's algorithm and am sadly reminded that I have to know about the awkward thing for the exam.

16:51 Back to the computer, having done at least some revision for now. Although it's remarkable how little I managed to get done while sitting in front of it.

My bed's all but hidden beneath a tidal wave of printed notes. Ho hum.

On a more banal note, I think I've come to a decision about how to rip Kamelot's "Epica" to hard drive - the album is pretty much one long continuous piece of music spread across 17 tracks, but I think I'll just take them separately for convenience's sake. Also, I've been eating grapes. Grapes are nice...
