This is one of those songs that's instantly great, it's like ceilidh-metal or something. Anyway...

The road was flooded under the railway bridge this evening. Yes, it had been raining pretty heavily for a couple of hours, but I didn't think it was anywhere near that bad. I started driving through it, but decided it was a bad idea when the splashes of water I was displacing reached door height. So I had to turn back and zoom around by the other route to work.

Work itself wasn't bad at all. The only table that was in was of twelve golfing "gentlemen"... I say that, but they were more like middle-aged versions of the people who used to live on my corridor. And we couldn't move them at all after they'd finished their meals. However, the three of us who work in the kitchen finished early and just sat around in the bar area for about forty minutes at the end. That's two pounds I got paid for listening to people talk about funerals.

Speaking of that uplifting subject, I decided to remove the dead rabbit from the garage when I got back. (To explain, my cat chased it in to the garden and we shut it in with a bowl of water and some dandelion leaves to protect it, but unfortunately it expired anyway.) I buried it under the vague bushes and the ex-half-tree in the back garden. Actually the occasion might have been more dignified if I could get the blasted thing on to the spade, I had to shove it around the garage floor for about five minutes before levering it on using a garden chair leg.
