The Sinner has been going a bit strange of late. I'd rather try and avoid the situation for a while.

Because I don't really visit the top end of the town that often, it wasn't until yesterday that I realised that the road people have been up to mischief again. Blackhall Road - one of the main ways to escape from Inverurie - is closed for no visible reason, and in addition the diversion, which took me half way around the town and back, is lined with cones and traffic lights. Although I hear a set of traffic lights were stolen the other day. Some thieves will stop at nothing. (You may laugh in your own time.)

Anyway, now that that joke's failed, I can tell you about what's happening at the other end of the town. It's been raining heavily again - the road's not quite underwater yet but it's not far off. I also encountered a monsoon on the way back from work, the kind of rain that you need to go so far as to put your windscreen wipers up to the second notch for. It's as if the weather has realised the summer holidays have ended and is pouring down everything that it's been saving up for two months. To tell the truth I quite like driving in the rain, though, because it makes you feel all cosy in your car compared to the harsh cold outside.

As the more attentive of the people who read this journal may have noticed, I've stopped exclusively putting song lyrics as my journal entries, and have started (shock, horror) being original instead.

There are two reasons for this - one was that the idea was just blatantly copied from [livejournal.com profile] mercuryanna (and I don't even have any songs in my collection with lyrics that could possibly be relevant to a journal entry), and the other is that when I'm looking at my journal calendar trying to find a specific entry (like the site where all the DDR songs could be downloaded) having the collected lyrical works of Sielck, Hansen and so on as the headers doesn't help in the search process. In fact it's like trying to find a needle in [livejournal.com profile] gr33bo's room.
