The weekend (sort of) begins.
Oct. 22nd, 2004 09:43 am"To all those in CS3103
Please note that the above lecture has been cancelled today (Friday 22 Oct)
due to Dr McKinna being off sick."
Yahoo! I mean, er, get well soon, James. Even though he did set this week's practical, and he was going to use the lecture today to attempt to explain it - it looks like we're all stuck in it together now. He really didn't sound well last time he lectured either. So, I could use the extra time I've been given constructively, but that would just be wrong.
I got myself a microphone from Argos (£7, very sleek looking) so that I can talk to Whitney over Skype instead of just getting her computer to play really bad music remotely. It worked fine for a couple of days, but yesterday my voice was coming out really badly on her side even though I could still hear her perfectly - has anyone else had this problem? (The microphone's fine, as tested in Sound Recorder, and her speakers are also working, so it must somehow be the connection that's broken in one direction but not the other - that makes no sense, but that would be asking a bit much.)
I've been out in the lab all afternoon every day this week writing about IEEE standards and how they relate to last year's projects, so I haven't been out at all - thankfully I've finished that ten-page snorefest, and I may go in to town this morning. I might as well do something that seems like I'm making myself useful.
I'm so glad that this isn't in Euromix 2.
