How the hell did I get a 16.2 for Graphs and Algorithms? Sorry I haven't updated in a while, but I thought that that deserved special comment. I was expecting about a grade 7 at the very best. My assumption is that everyone did equally terribly and the curve was altered so that at least some people would pass (the ones with more than four marks).

I found out the results of my exams after the only day I wasn't checking them every ten minutes, and instead was out in New York. The rest of my results were surprisingly good as well, with Software Engineering being the worst of them at 15.8. If I continue clinging on to around the 16.5 area, I might even be able to scrape a first out of this drudgery.

We were in New York to see Avenue Q. Come to think of it, I don't think I had ever seen a musical before. My entire previous experience of being in theatres was going to see pantomimes yearly with the Boys Brigade. Anyway, I'd rather not remember that - Avenue Q is fantastic, especially the bit during the Give Us All Your Money song when they take a collection from the audience. (They got, in total, one used train ticket.)

During the hours of waiting before the doors opened, I was taken to visit the library, then to try out some legendary cheesecake. I also picked up Kamelot's first two albums (Eternity and Dominion) while in the city. Perhaps the best description I can come up with is that they sound more Castlevania-ish than they do now.

The whole two weeks have gone past very quickly indeed... I'll be back in St Andrews on Sunday, and the whole hideous cycle begins again on Monday. I've still got a couple of days here yet, though, and tonight there's going to be an engagement party for us organised by one of Whitney's more enthusiastic friends. It promises to be quite an experience.

Thank you, everyone, for all your congratulations! I'm sure Whitney wouldn't agree to actually be married while playing DDR (as suggested by [livejournal.com profile] gh, but some might say it's a momentous occasion as it's the first time a DDR player has actually got married.
