Noodle Soup
Feb. 7th, 2005 07:35 pmHow nice not to have afternoon classes just now. I'd almost forgotten what it was like to be able to go to the Union in the afternoon on a weekday. (Unfortunately when steveo_h and I walked back, the door of the Jack Cole building already seemed broken.) Databases looks like it's going to turn in to another Software Engineering - that is, everything I learned in fifth year Information Systems but dressed up in longer words.
Currently I am in something of a dilemma. As unlikely as it may seem, someone enjoyed my music so much that I've been asked to work on a song with him that will hopefully eventually get performed and produced properly. The trouble is that I'm working with his own lyrics, and they're the cheesiest I've ever seen in my life. I'm not talking about normal pop-cheesy - the lines I have in front of me would make even Modern Talking blush. Of course, flawed as I am, I'm too nice to actually tell him and instead resorted to messaging back "The chorus is all right", which seemed to appease him. I'll admit I'm not exactly a world authority on lyrics myself (as Whitney pointed out that all of mine are about religion, other worlds or the storylines to various RPGs) but still, even just seeing the word "Baby" in a song almost makes me spontaneously combust with embarrassment.
As for the title of this post, I'm cooking ramen at the moment as an alternative dinner to Melville's attempt at chicken risotto, and it was the first thing that came to mind. Well, I say "cooking" - I mean "stabbing brutally with a fork so that it'll fit in the jug".
