Filler Entry
Feb. 13th, 2005 01:04 pmI tried to do it, I really did. I managed four consecutive days with an entry before lapsing back in to not bothering to write anything here. It seems that when this journal was started a little under two years ago I could write essay-length entries with no difficulty whatsoever, but my journal calendar for this year is already looking incredibly sparse. Oh well, better quality than quantity. And when you have neither, better less than more, or something like that.
I've no idea where I was going with that paragraph, which is a feature also shared by my essay. I tried to make a start to it yesterday at around one in the morning, and it's already shaping up promisingly to be the worst essay I've ever written. Such was my desperation in finding things to say that I used the words "facilitate" and "semantics" in the first paragraph, lodging the Ponceometer at twelve where it looks like it'll stay for the rest of the writing process. The level of pretentiousness in Formal Methods is truly astounding - having looked through textbooks on it, I've no idea why anyone would want to use such convoluted nonsense.
Last night, "A Night at the Opera" took the place of being my most downloaded song within the first fortnight of release, beating the previous record holder by an astonishing margin of one download. I've spent most of the morning using Excel to draw graphs of totals, averages, and comparisons, which I may put in to my report at random intervals to see if anyone notices.
I feel that I've been very lazy the last week because of the lack of being pushed to do anything, so I invited the users of the Daily Click to threaten me in to getting some work done. These people certainly don't mess about.
