A quiet moment
Nov. 26th, 2008 11:55 amI don't have anything very useful to say, but I don't want to stay quiet throughout the entire holiday either. The normal state of Whitney's parents' house is enormously loud, and I've tended to try and grab on to the quieter moments and mostly attempt to answer the frankly unbelievably large amount of email that I've been getting over the last few days.
The preparations for Thanksgiving are just about in full swing now - Whitney's making pies and wants me to stay out of the kitchen, we're going for a lobster dinner tonight, then seeing Suantum of Quolace tomorrow followed by the yearly meal of seafood stew, and then tree-hunting the day after that. So it's more busy than I'm used to, but I can't really complain.
A week ago I would have said that I was disappointed that once again I wasn't experiencing the traditional Thanksgiving turkey, but that was before I saw that video at the turkey farm with the loathsome grinning banshee who's been all over the television since the end of the election. You could just about see the birds queueing up behind her hoping to be next and end the torment of listening to a million nails being scratched down a million blackboards with lipstick.
