The One Ronnie
Dec. 23rd, 2010 09:01 amAs a few people (from America as well as Britain) have sent me one of the more surreal nostalgic experiences of my life recently, I wanted to pass it on as well.
TheTwo One Ronnie - My Blackberry Isn't Working
Why is this surreal? Well, I grew up watching The Two Ronnies (before I was old enough to realize quite how subtly rude a lot of it was), and it's really strange to see this revival - somewhat tragically now called The One Ronnie, as only Ronnie Corbett has survived - with the same absurd wordplay, done in exactly the same style as it was in the 80s, and yet based around things that were many years away from being invented when they were originally on. But it's nice to see that the style still works so well - and that like before, they haven't worried too much about editing out the points where Harry Enfield nearly loses it, for example. I think I'll have to search for the complete special.
