...once again I feel that life's begun
All the wrongs seem to be right, drowned in ecstasy
Every star is like a newborn sun

I found an empty packet of Goldbären in my pocket. Strange, as I don't even like the things and haven't been to Germany in ages.

This morning I joined David Bean, Alyssa and Libby on a walk around St Andrews, ending at the Union. While I was there I met Alan, Claire and Charlotte from New Hall (and yes, I couldn't resist taking Alan on at DDR). Walked back for lunch, which was rather good by Melville standards - it was simple, so they couldn't mess it up - we had the first Knightmare watching session of the academic year, starting on series five. Quite a few people joined us, in fact.

We got pizza from Empire instead of eating dinner (which sounded decent and cheaper, if you ask me, but Empire is always nice), then watched Betelguese. Except it isn't spelt like that, is it? Beetlejuice. I left for a minute to get paper towels and met Billy and Laura, who gave me a leaflet about a ceilidh at Madras College. Tried to convince some of the others to come, but they were happy where they were so I left for there with Billy, Ally and, er, someone else that I can't remember the name of.

Was great fun, in fact - I really enjoy ceilidh dancing, which is sort of strange when I think back to everyone rolling up their sleeves over their hands in primary school for Christmas dances (remember the days?). Met up with a girl called Heather from McIntosh hall, who I danced with rather a lot... added her to the growing MSN list.

Actually I nearly left halfway through because I suddenly felt very ill after drinking some of the fruit juice... must have been the combination of that, the dancing and the heat. Still, I felt a lot better after I went to the toilets and had a good retch. Lovely. Isn't it strange how the body betrays you? I'm sure George Orwell mentioned that somewhere in 1984.

Still, I did carry on and stayed on until the end. I walked back with Heather and Emily, this time resisting the temptation to drop in to the Union and have a bit of DDR practice, because my feet really hurt!

I'm surprised you didn't find some kind of neutron gun or extinct species of fish in your jacket, with everything else that's in there...
