Time to destroy Metal Gear!

I've run out of things to say this week, so here's somebody else's journal instead. hiimdaisy wrote a series of wonderfully manic comics summarizing the story of the first Metal Gear Solid game - there are four chapters, starting with this entry. They probably won't make a whole lot of sense if you haven't played it, but I promise that every event in there does happen in the game. It just didn't seem... totally ludicrous until it was put in this form.

I find they're best read in the voice of Strong Bad.

These are excellent, especially the remote controlled missiles against Sniper Wolf. I couldn't beat that fight fairly and had to resort to that.

I'm certain that I did it the "correct" way the first time I played through, but then somehow discovered that small spot where you could just hit her in the knees with rockets instead and I haven't bothered to do it fairly since either.

And I'd almost forgotten about Nastasha until that comic mentioned her - I knew she was in the game, but she's come up about twice in however many times I've played through it.

Life's pretty good. I'm in a kinda limbo similiar to how I was four years ago, when you first e-mailed me.

I've got 2 weeks before I move to London largely on the basis that I'll hate it and it'll probably be good for me. And that it gives me an excuse to make (I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea references. And I've got a pretty great PhD. place at Imperial College London.

It's daunting, but should be good. I've had a very crazy year, but things are pretty good.

Though you should ask again in two-three weeks. :P
