Red Line - Orange Line - Green Line - Blue Line - Silver Line - HELPLINE! So considerate of the Samaritans to apparently provide an advert for those who have been driven to suicide with the MBTA's incompetence and have decided that being run over by a train would be preferable to taking one. (Not that they even go fast enough to do much damage - the past couple of days have been awfully slow in the mornings, and a couple of weeks ago there was another crash on the line I take to get into work leaving everyone else just sitting there for hours.)

This reminds me that a few months ago they handed out surveys to ask the commuters about their normal T journeys and how they could improve. I sent them a two-page letter back describing (in quite a lot of detail) how their biggest problems could all be avoided by making small efforts to improve the communication with their passengers.

I never received a reply.

That's almost beautiful in its incompetence.

I'm not surprised to see the Samaritan sign in the Subway at all, after seeing the T passengers myself. It should have been put up years ago! Everyone looks so depressed and angry on the subway, except for the occasional transient that tries to strike up conversations with others in the vicinity/himself.

Seeing all those sad faces with matching white earbuds really discouraged me from getting an iPod.
