Butter

I've just been told that the Americans don't put butter on their sandwiches.

Two years, and the country still continues to surprise.

But no one else I know of.

I don't put butter on anything, even bread or pancakes, just because I don't like the taste of butter. It's too...buttery.

However, I'll make an exception for cooked things that have butter in them, like cakes and brownies.

What do they use then, mayonnaise? Or is it left like Mars, plain and dry with only the moistness under the surface to keep things tasty?

Mayonnaise seems to be the spread of choice here. I'd just never noticed that it was pretty much exclusive.
