I saw this on gr33bo's journal and needed something creative to do while waiting for a lunch meeting (it's a hard life).

It's strange just how many random phrases sound like convincing band and album names. That said, I'm not sure what genre this band would be, but I'm fairly certain that I would stay away from them.

Too lazy to make one of these but I got CRIME DOCTOR - Able to Repay You and the cover is a photo of some wolves.

Crime Doctor is a sweet name for a band that's for sure.

As band names go Tiny Alice is OK, but it's no Crime Doctor. I look envy daggers on you.

I tried again right afterwards and got Western Plaza Shopping Center - Law of Diminishing Returns, with an album cover of a small tank built out of Lego. So obviously it doesn't quite work for everything.

Crime Doctor's the best so far!

Mine came out as Velakali - Everything Else is Secondary, which I think works out pretty well.

It's on my LJ now, although it's not exactly perfected - got to get back to revision.

I got "Minnesota State High School Mathematics League" as my band and decided to stop playing right then and there.

Edit: Then I got Viva Forever (which I had to disqualify because it's a Spice Girls song and using something already music-oriented like that seems like it's cheating) and then--and I swear I'm not making this up--premature ejaculation. I think the universe really just doesn't want me to be able to do this meme.

SC Schwanenstadt -- Way to Explore it, with this picture. Obviously, this must be some sort of Thomas Dolby-ish nerdy synthpop.

Sounds like the band that Lister listens to in Red Dwarf called "Cholostomy Explosion". I also got a Beastie Boys album as one of my results and skipped over it for much the same reason - though bands with "tribute" names like Epica, Ride the Sky, and so on, aren't exactly uncommon.

Speaking of which, another thing I like about our own genre of music is the album artwork style - it's usually instantly recognizable, and not a sort of attempt at photographic artsiness (I can imagine your example below having the album title as a sticker on the car window). Iron Maiden has one single cover that's a live band shot, and it just looks completely wrong.

I think "Internet in a Box" is my favourite band name out of this so far! The all-lowercase motif fits the name strangely well.

Some cheating was involved in how choosy I was with the results I got, but since the last time I tried doing this fairly I got Premature Ejaculation and Minnesota State High School Mathematics League for my bands, you'll hopefully understand.

Those are fantastic. This really could just be called the Indie Band Album Cover Generator (though Codiolum sounds a bit more black metal to me at first glance). Quarter Florin would probably involve accordions, I feel.
