Yes, I know, an empty Youtube-pointer post, but Yahtzee quietly uploaded a video fitting the Vic and Bob song "Trapped in My Flat" to Silent Hill 4 at the start of the year, and it fits strangely well.

Particularly on the first line, "I haven't left me flat for over three months", the difference in mood between a horror game and a happy song about the same subject is quite wonderful.

After that I went looking for their other songs, and couldn't stop laughing at the one where they use that fanfare that I can't remember the name of and give it the triumphant words "I've got a new hoover".

Hah, that made me laugh, if only for the bit where the council apologises but says there's nothing it can do. That's pretty standard horror when dealing with real-world councils; goodness only knows what dealing with the Silent Hill County Council would be like.

"Hello? Is that the Silent Hill County Council Town Planning Division? My name is James Sutherland, I'm ringing to compain about the amount of roadworks going on in the city. Every second road seems to be completely blocked off - I can't get anywhere without going through one of your blocks of apartments. And it's not even as if they're in the right place - that crack in the road on Lindsey Street that opens up into a screaming abyss has been there for weeks..." :P

That reminds me that I meant to list the things that Alex Salmond can't climb over in my Silent Hill Homecoming thoughts - including but not limited to a small swing chair, ankle-high chain, and a larger than average cardboard box. Their blocking off of areas was getting less creative by then...

I do love the idea of just... picturing the Silent Hill council - they'd definitely have a full time job in Silent Hill :)
