Crystal Towers 2 - Wilkshire

Thanks to another burst of enthusiasm, I've now been working on Crystal Towers 2 for about thirty straight hours (or it feels like it). The introduction telling the story of the game is now complete, and the whole thing is being generally prettied up. Just now I'm writing some material for a section of the site that I'll reveal fully when the game's out, which serves as a guide to the levels - it's written as an account of the game environment by a previous explorer.

And I've been taking the opportunity to give the game more character, after spending so long doing the things that I needed to do. I first thought of calling the Music Castle cat-things Yves and Francois, but I liked one of rakarr's suggestions better, and the one on the left is now called Wilkshire. I think that he's the most adorable thing I've ever drawn (this is an animated PNG and will work on Livejournal, in Firefox, and not much else - there's a speckly GIF alternative here).

That is aaaaaaadorable. :D I think that's the cutest "talking" cycle I've ever seen :)

That blob in the explorer account is dopefish-inspired, isn't it?

I forgot that you hadn't seen that far on in the game! I hadn't actually thought of the Dopefish at all for anything in this game, but I can see why you brought that up - especially given its described habit of just eating everything that happens to fall in.
