Isn't it funny how, a century or so ago, we were all engrossed with the idea of being able to fly...and now we're getting sick of it?

As someone who spends quite a lot of time at an airport, though, you have my deepest sympathies.

I'm reminded of something I saw Will Self say ages ago - which thanks to the magic of the Internet I can show you here! - about the huge gulf between how exciting the idea of flight should be, and how appalling an experience it really is...

I can just about cope with airports, even the bit where (as some people seem to imagine it) your lot now take a photograph of my tiny cock and then send it around to all your Facebook friends - it's just having to stay there as a prelude to flying that I have trouble with. Being confined non-literally, with only being confined literally to look forward to...
