Whitney found these in the pharmacy today.

As you might be able to guess from the shape of the logo, Lay's is the parent company of what we know in Britain as the big-eared-footballer-promoted Walkers - but I've noticed that America has been lacking in ready availabilty of meat-flavoured crisps ever since my arrival here. I had high hopes for this one, thinking that it might be Smokey Bacon under a different name - it's not bad, but it's not quite there. It could be following the same rules as America does for British television, adapting it to their own market by making it slightly less good.

There was one flavour of crisp here I quite liked before, though I haven't seen it in a while - it was mostly cheese with a bit of bacon in it, and was called Fully Loaded. The only crisp flavour to sound like a Judas Priest song.

Meat-flavored potato chips?

I don't know whether to be disgusted or intrigued. o_O

When I saw that picture, I honestly expected this post to go in more of an "all right, America, we need to talk" direction, like when you discovered the pancake-wrapped sausage on a stick.

Yet another in a lengthy line of nacho flavoured chips. I imagine them so good, it makes me eat a nacho..

I miss meat crisps (although bacon is the one flavour I can't stand!) I have to get my mum to post over M&S roast beef and onion ones!

I was watching the latest advert for Walkers a few days ago which made me wonder how long Lineker has been doing Walker's adverts. Apparently it is 17 years.

Not that I eat much crisps but I think the one flavour that I would miss most outside of the UK would be worchester sauce wheat crunchies.

I'm trying to figure out why they couldn't use the name "Lay's" in Britain. Was the name used for something else there? (SImilarly, "COBS Bread" was chosen because "Baker's Delight", the original Australian name, is apparently owned by some small donut company up here in Canada.)

Wouldn't Fully Loaded have all the flavours -- oh wait, I'm thinking of All-Dressed. Fully Loaded is probably akin to a Baked Potato.
