I will accept, at most, half the responsibility for this.

(It would be impolite not to give the source, or the other source. By "source", I think I mean "font of madness".)

Special announcement! I noticed after mocking this up that the game just has all its assets lying around in the data folder - therefore, the files for Hanano Puzzle - Hatoful Complete Birdie Edition are available now. (It's really just a ZIP with a PNG and a WAV in it - unzip it to your own data folder after taking backups of them both if for some reason you feel compelled to modify your game in this way.)

I know this was inevitable, but still.... why?

Then again, after my last crossover image, do I really have any room to talk? :b

Yeah, that probably explains it...

I like how you've drawn it in an impossible position. o.o

I think that was more in reference to the fact that this level cannot be completed. I can easily see how this would have started*, but 2 of the right-hatching black OkoBlocks can't be hatched; the bottom one is stuck between the wall and the black nest, and there's no way to reach the top one tucked into the upper-let corner.

*Blue and green OkoBlocks start on the very top, to the immediate right of the two up-hatching blacks. Hatch the black OkoBlock, move it left one, drop green then blue on top of it, hatching blue. Drop green to the left, move it left to hatch it, then shuffle black and blue over to put blue where it currently rests, then move green and black right to where they currently are.

Including the starting position suggestions I made, however....if you take the bottom right-facing black OkoBlock and put it on top of the top one, and move the unhatched green OkoBlock to where the bottom black one was moved from, then this level's perfectly solvable!

It doesn't have to be Euclidean.

… don't make me start making puzzle games about birds in elliptic and hyperbolic space. I have enough things to do as it is!

Also the title of your post is irking me more than it should because it feels so unnatural to split up morae like that. (I keep wanting to put back the missing vowel and make “hanatoful”, since otherwise the /n/ element just comes from nowhere, and I keep wanting to turn the second word into /pazufu/. (I don't feel like getting out the kana input mode at the moment.))

I have the elliptic and hyperbolic geometry Wikipedia articles open in other tabs now. Dagnabbit.

As it turns out, I don't know nearly enough differential geometry to make enough behead or detail of this to get anywhere useful trying to design puzzle operations on it without studying for probably the next month straight! Argh.

I'll get you next time, rabbit! Next time!

You definitely seem to have your share of "silent comments" when it comes to David.

You gotta hand it to him. He knows how to twist a beak. ^^

Ever since Hatoful came into our lives, I don't really think much of anything has gone how any of us had intended.
