New album released - Signal from the Sky

Unlikely as it is that you'll care about this unless you've already read it in my announcements elsewhere - I've released Signal from the Sky on Bandcamp!

And it looks fantastic - have a look at this:



I still can't really believe that something this professional-looking is associated with my Amiga/pretentious metal crossover music... the cover was done by Jubatian, and you can see more of his artwork at http://jubatian.com . His submission of the full cover artwork is here.

$5 gets you the songs I've already released, a bonus track which (would you believe) is called "The Crimson Angel of Judecca", printable artwork for the covers, and a bonus pack of source files and abandoned scraps that I've yet to put together.

$5 just to figure out what that bonus track sounds like is worth the price in my book!

...Which now makes this the second time in my life Anghel has driven me to spend a fiver on something. Between that and his in-game over-the-top shenanigans, I can just imagine him as a pitch man for TV commercials.

Anghel certainly has the... volume for it! Although he may confuse quite a lot of people...

Off-hand, as awesome as the bonus track is, I'd have to say the 2 "Elements" tracks, 8 and 9, are my favorites.

I just want everyone reading this to know that, while using it as a title is one thing, davidn actually managed to fit "The Crimson Angel of Judecca" into the lyrics (in the chorus, no less) without resorting to Heavenly-esque syllable torture.

Thank you for sounding impressed :) I have actually wondered, as they're not part of the music, how many people read along to the lyrics and if their fitting them to the rhythm matches my own...

Best $5 (okay $7) I've spent in a while! Though, when I heard a bit of "Shuu's theme" in CAoJ, I very nearly spit out my breakfast xD Just. Wow. And the ending. You are a mad genius!

:) I'm very glad you enjoyed it! It's just my luck that the joke song at the end would suddenly turn out to be the best thing I'd ever written ;)

With those lyrics and that tune as written, I'm somewhat more naturally inclined to try to space out the pauses within the first few syllables rather than having them all at the end; I'd have said "the-Crim-[beat]-son-[beat]-An-gel-of-Ju-decca" rather than "the Crim-son-An-[beat]-[beat]-gel-of-Ju-decca." It's close enough that it certainly works either way, though.

Though I can't help but feel a small tinge of disappointment at the missed opportunity to genre-tag that track "Pigeon Metal" or something.
