DavidXN: This board's gone mad recently. Or perhaps I have. I have been spending most of my spare time with a bird-based dating simulator, so actually that's probably more likely.
BodeciaBust: You been oogling at a bunch of bluetlts, or a cockatoo?
Dark RPG Wizard 06: Remember, don't trust the doctor. For everything that is good and kind, DON'T TRUST THE FAT BIRD.
DavidXN: I AM THE FAT BIRD!

I think that this game might have driven me a little crazy.

And it's not difficult to see why. This is the first half of the final chapter, an episode primarily starring me and [livejournal.com profile] kjorteo, in which my reward for having acted a melancholy backstory for Shuu is to act an absolutely despondent backstory for Kazuaki. I've been reliving the whole thing as I edit it, and to hear my own voice as this victim of such tragedy, keeping a brave smiling face for Nageki while unknowingly sending him to his ultimate death... I have huge great arcs of water squirting out of my eyes sideways. [livejournal.com profile] kjorteo was amazing at... making me feel terrible for his character - thank you very much!

I also get to hear two of my own characters' voices for the first time ever, as they change so unexpectedly so close to the end of the game - and it's got to the point where it's strange to hear something quite so close to my natural accent, now. That worked out much better than Kazuaki's sudden ending-diverting scene, where I tried to add an aggressive tone to his weird David Mitchell voice and he came out sounding somewhat like a poor impression of Michael Caine.

Wow, is that what my wounded Nageki voice sounded like? I remember using it in the Hatoful House scene in error (he's completely unhurt, just ... scared, but I played the lines up as though he were moments from dying in Hitori's arms wings or something), but then liking the voice anyway so oh well, and then using it again during the "I'm fine" bit (wherein it's appropriate due to his high fever) and during the fire, which ... well. :( Anyway, I didn't get to actually hear how it sounded until you posted these just now, of course, and ... well, to quote Xaq at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6yUXFPhygQ#t=3m35s , Super Sad Beaks. (Um, Xaq, are you ... were you okay, at this point? That quote sounded ... well ... Super Sad Beaks.)

God, that fire scene in particular, I am so sorry for that. Though your performance easily keeps up with mine, with how so good you are at sounding both intense (when calling out for Nageki) and heartbroken (when you ... find him....)

Also, your reaction to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6yUXFPhygQ#t=2m58s is perfect.

I honestly don't remember if I really was on the verge of crying there, or if I was just saying that in a tone of voice that fit how sad that was. O_o;;

That line ... every time I re-watch that scene, that really is the single most perfect reading any line I read in the entirety of this group endeavor has ever been. My voice just happened to randomly falter (that actually was not intentional) in the middle of the word "Hitori," in a way that transformed the whole thing into something I could never even match again, let alone surpass, even if I had a thousand takes with which to try.

Your shouting was just fine! Especially the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6yUXFPhygQ#t=7m55s , that was ... also absolutely perfect.

You two did a fantastic job with that flashback, I must say.

Now then...umm, can we perhaps get the last part up so I can stop being trapped in the smoking room with yandere-Kazuaki, pease? D:

Psh, I see no reason why you wouldn't want to stay in that room forever. Er, I mean.

Actually, I'm kind of looking forward to seeing how the Shadow confrontation turned out, myself, so I think I'm going to concur with you, here!

Also, thank you. :) That's high praise coming from you, after the kind of performance you turned in...!

Okay fine one more thing but then I'm going to bed for real this time:

Why is it that even though I honestly tried my best to add extra "you killed my brother" rage into Sakuya's lines, apparently everyone else was even better at sounding infuriated at the doctor, even the person who also voices the doctor?

I think it was mostly due to how different everybirdy else's usual demeanor was from Murderbeaks-fury. Going from "Yup yup!" and "I hope mother's okay..." to "WHY DID YOU DO THIS!?!" was a hell of a swing for me. O_o;

You know, that ... that's actually probably it. Maybe it's the same reason David prefers my Pidgeworth voice to his attempt to do it, even though he's the one with an actual accent instead of a ridiculous and probably bad fake one--that ... difference from usual it creates. (He ran into the problem of his Sakuya and Ryouta sounding almost identical, which obviously was less of a problem for my stream and even less of one now for the group endeavor.) I guess my Sakuya being angry and yelling at someone isn't particularly new or unusual, is it. :(

It's that sort of obvious fake Hollywood version of British that led me to conclude the "Baby Sakuya" segment was basically me channeling Luke from Professor Layton (only I wasn't quite that high-pitched.)

I was honestly quite surprised when I did Sakuya's route in the original stream and discovered that the voice actually still worked for heavy scenes. That pales in comparison to this entire route with this group, though, in which I think I took Sakuya and his voice to whole new levels of trauma. (And Nageki, but we already knew the Nageki voice could be sad.)

It's that specific kind of “ow” that he does, too—also audible in The Games: Summer Edition during the hammer throw, Gourmet Sentai Bara Yarou when he gets danced on by a miniature man, and DuckTales at some point I can't remember.
