I'm at a point where I'm not even sure whether I should keep on injecting further Hatomadness into the world quite so regularly, given the state of my Friends page after just three chapters - there is a point where you would think that a certain dose was sufficient. Nevertheless, here's another, a manageable bite that's a little shorter than most because the next part is pretty much one very long unbreakable scene. In today's chapter, we finally get to investigate the council room after stopping off to chat to people on the way, and we assess the extent of the damage - including the Christmas Thieves voice really coming into its own now, and a wonderful 100-metre relay of reactions when Shuu finally makes his appeearance!

I like how it used the "dramatic, horrific reveal" chord when the Weirdbeaks' apology note was shown. I almost expected the reading of the note to be accompanied by "Dread" (aka the theme from Shuu's full ending or the reveal of what was in the box at the start of BBL.)

(Which reminds me--while nothing can ever top Ryouta 1 as far as how perfect the the preview frame is, this one is definitely up there!)

Given DavidN's reaction to your Weirdbeaks voice, I'd say that description's not too far off the mark.

And yeah, I'd put the note right up there with Cheerleader Sakuya in terms of serendipitous preview frames. :D

I swear my Sakuya voice is always best when he's at his most exasperated, but ... this may be the best it's turned out yet. And that's saying something; I used to think my best Sakuya shouting was in the "Pull yourself together!" speech in the Ryouta fight in BBL, which of course was dramatically enhanced by the high serious emotional content of that entire scene. I didn't expect to ever outdo that with a comedic "that's just Sakuya being Sakuya" bit!

In case this line was lost in the middle of the panic (I understand we were all a bit too traumatized to speak coherently or to listen to each other over our own reactions) so just to repeat it, I seriously love how, in contrast to the cheers and applause and "oh God I missed you" reaction on Yuuya's first Holiday Star lines, even the voice of Shuu had a D8 reaction to Shuu's triumphant return.

I also like how I apparently happened to have appropriate Hatoful icons for three different character-specific comments in this journal.

I missed everyone else's screams (probably because, due to lag, by the time I heard them I was too busy screaming myself)...it's nice to know I wasn't the only one who needed a change of shorts afterwards.

I just went backed and listened again, and if I'm picking apart whose scream is whose correctly, we had DavidN's "OH JESUS!", then Raven's "AAAAAA!", then my "OH GOD!" and Kaye's "AAAAAA!" were simultaneous, and finally your "AAAAAA!" So, a fairly unanimous reaction, then, lag-induced timing differences aside!

It was very satisfying when I realized that just due to happenstance, you could hear each of our individual reactions very clearly, and that none of the detail was swallowed by any of the others at all! It couldn't have been scripted better.

Indeed! That even turned out better than the Labor 9-induced, "Okay everybirdie, follow my lead" scream back in BBL.
