Backgammon - Part VIII

I've run out of relevant phrases beginning with "Back". Also, VIII is such an awkward Roman numeral, don't you think? It's far too long for such a small number, important as the number eight is.

The four hours of work I had today turned in to six hours because of an immense number of people needing served, and as luck would have it it was tonight that myself and the new cook had been left to fend for ourselves. However, we did so well at avoiding potential crises that the boss (who had been phoning up constantly to check if we had messed up horribly yet) told us to split the tip saucer next to the till between the two of us. On top of the five pound tip I personally got for being patient with a tableful of golfers that had overdone it on the wine, that leaves me with close to £16 from tonight, and that doesn't include any of my hourly pay at all. Hooray!

I don't know how to tell you this, but there's someone in Edinburgh who's scored a 228xxxxxxwhatever on Normal 1. I couldn't even approach the high score chart on anything other than Easy 1. I guess they just don't bother with it. The guy/gal is called Tau by the way. If that guy forms DDRsoc, maybe we should try to have a full-scale Scotland-sized tournament - invite the best to St Andrews (break their kneecaps and challenge them to a game). Only maybe without the last bit.

I never understood why they don't use IIX for 8.
