...The best intro to a song that I've ever heard.

Instead of revising tonight, I was persuaded by Paul to go out to the Union (which didn't take very long at all, really):

[Wong] I should probably do some revision instead
[Greebo] ach pffft to that
[Wong] I have done nothing for Computing. And by "nothing" I don't mean "not enough". I mean, literally, nothing.
[RaphX] sounds like me and Italian
[RaphX] Economics*
[Greebo] so if you don't know it now you won't know it all therefore you should come
[RaphX] both*
[Wong] I see your point. All right then
[Greebo] bloody hell that was easy

Most of the night was spent playing air-hockey, though I met Chemistry Paul and Laura there as well. During the night, I had the idea of starting an air-hockey record/league table type thing - as if I wasn't sad enough already. But still, I kept a record of all the scores tonight and tried to use Excel to type them up.

1. Start Excel.
2. Type names of participants in to table.
3. Select cells to grey out (diagonal) and click Format.
4. It CRASHES.
5. Restart Excel.
6. Type them out again, save, select one cell, click Format.
7. It crashes.
8. Reload.
9. Tentatively try to use the Format menu instead.
10. It crashes.
11. Restart, beginning to feel like shoving the keyboard through the monitor.
12. Decide to try it without cell formatting, begin putting in scores.
13. Half of them in, realise it would be better to use averages.
14. Realise that the moronic program thinks that 18/3 is a date, not a division.
15. Try to format cells to tell it otherwise.
16. The blasted thing crashes.
17. Restart.
18. Try again with the Format menu... it works.
19. Recover from shock.
20. Tell Excel they are "Number" fields.
21. Type out the rest of the formulae.
22. Realise that Excel replaced all the formulae with plain numbers once I typed them in.
23. Give up.

Result:
0WN3D!

Incidentally, I started a new "/alt/wong" Angelfire account, as the out of date "retro/aurorasoft/" one was too awkward to type, really, and had a lot of useless junk. I've noticed the images (well, one of them) being used by [livejournal.com profile] prophettenebrae on The Sinner, which is rather flattering.
