Riding the wind on a Bluebird
May. 14th, 2003 12:35 pmWell, I'm back. Nice weather it seems to be down here... better than in Aberdeen, anyway.
For the most part the four days away were pretty uneventful. Watched The Silence of the Lambs and Swordfish round at David Moore's, then took my place again as the hockey goalie for the Inverurie Ventures, or whatever they're called now. I was hit in the face by a flying hockey ball within five minutes of starting, which turned the left side of my face a strange shade of purple, but I soldiered on.
That serial link cable I bought worked after a while trying to set it up. I messed around for ages trying to get file transfers working, then just tried starting Doom 2 which worked instantly. So I've been playing Transport Tycoon two-player with my brother (double the geekiness quotient). I was also beaten very badly at one-on-one Starcraft, as you might expect.
Of course, all that (and watching Red Dwarf 2) didn't exactly help revision, which I've been doing some of but not enough. Still, I now understand at least a little of both of the Chemistry modules.
Was really a spur of the moment decision to come down here - could have stayed another day, really. With a sense of timing to rival the Speaking Clock, my backpack's zip burst as I was about to leave, so I had to throw everything in to an absolutely titanic Adidas sports bag that's roughly the size of Glasgow. Struggled back with that, tidied my desk and now it's off to another AMH lunch. I'd say I'd been missing them, but that would be a lie.
