...The best intro to a song that I've ever heard.

Instead of revising tonight, I was persuaded by Paul to go out to the Union (which didn't take very long at all, really):

[Wong] I should probably do some revision instead
[Greebo] ach pffft to that
[Wong] I have done nothing for Computing. And by "nothing" I don't mean "not enough". I mean, literally, nothing.
[RaphX] sounds like me and Italian
[RaphX] Economics*
[Greebo] so if you don't know it now you won't know it all therefore you should come
[RaphX] both*
[Wong] I see your point. All right then
[Greebo] bloody hell that was easy

Most of the night was spent playing air-hockey, though I met Chemistry Paul and Laura there as well. During the night, I had the idea of starting an air-hockey record/league table type thing - as if I wasn't sad enough already. But still, I kept a record of all the scores tonight and tried to use Excel to type them up.

Incidentally, I started a new "/alt/wong" Angelfire account, as the out of date "retro/aurorasoft/" one was too awkward to type, really, and had a lot of useless junk. I've noticed the images (well, one of them) being used by [livejournal.com profile] prophettenebrae on The Sinner, which is rather flattering.

I would say that describes me surprisingly well in some places.

This morning, I had four hours to learn XHTML, and ended up doing very little again. Instead, I decided to revise stylesheets and some of the more obscure networking teminologies.

And now it's done, it's over, the CS1004 exam is out of the way. It wasn't nearly as bad as CH1004, instead happily at a CH1006 level. The best thing about it was the choice of questions, they're very lenient in that way.

The whole "not spraying people after exams" isn't going too well, there were various people being covered in champagne, blasted with Super Soakers and being covered in vague orange slime outside College Hall. Lovely.

Afterwards, Gregory, Graeme and I went to the Union briefly, where I had some air-hockey practice against Gregory (7-0, 7-3, 7-1, 7-2, so a nice variation there). He had only played it a couple of times, though, nowhere near as much experience as I've had over the year.

And now all the work for first year is over... it's strange that it's gone so quickly, and next year I'll be an academic father to first years (perhaps). This time last year I was only just beginning to think about leaving home to come to University.

So what's happened this year? Well: I've broken up my first serious relationship; moved away from home, although not exactly moved out; discovered my addiction to German melodic hardrock; briefly become everything I hated; only just escaped being turned in to a 1337 d00d; discovered that computers can actually play movies (seriously, this was a new concept for me - consider the state of my computer); been given a Livejournal; been great at air hockey, then awful, then good again; remained a teetotaller; and begun to seriously worry about my own sanity. There are certainly things I'd do differently if I could have this year again, but it's gone very well for the most part.

The trouble with not really doing much revision is that the post-exam period is pretty much the same as the reading and exam weeks. But I've now got three days to laze about, watch over my Internet empire, and convince people to watch some more Knightmare videos.
