Haha! I'm using the Internet!!!1
Sep. 22nd, 2003 12:42 pmMy speakers have started to whine again. It's mobile phones that do it. Mobile phones interfere with my computer, and my computer interferes with TVs - it's a fair trade if you ask me. Recently I've got back in to Age of Empires again - the original. Perhaps others would be interested in a network game of that, I think I'm far better at it than Starcraft (though admittedly I usually play with the AI on the "Thick as Mince" setting). I tried to install MSN Zone in the vain hope that the game would work online, but no such luck.
I went along to make my appointment for advising this morning - only took fifteen minutes, but it was pouring with rain. So my appointment's on Friday at 9:30 - chose the earliest one because last year he was running almost an hour late before he got to me.
When I came back I had been turned off. Yes, the Internet had been deleted, so I went all the way along to the Butts Wynd building and came back with only a piece of paper telling me to apply online. Now, applying online to get a connection seems more than a little stupid to me, but I'll try it anyway.
On the way back I went to the John Honey building to see if I could use the computers there, but discovered that the door had gone. I have to admit that that surprised me, but I found it lurking around the side of the building. I went back again once I'd got my card details and everything.
And I met Lee Ing (at least, I think that's how you spell it) on the way back - I wasn't sure if it was her at first, but she recognised me. She introduced me to her friends Xiao Ling and Cheri (those spellings are complete guesses, but they seem likely based on my knowledge of Chinese gained from playing Namco games) by saying "He is... very good person", which was heart-warmingly nice.
And now, obviously, I'm back online. Don't know whether it's because of filling out the online form or because I messed around with the settings here. It's rather odd.
