Your spirit and my voice, in one combined
Mar. 26th, 2004 04:22 pmIt's been a hard afternoon's titrating in the lab. I finished rather earlier than I expected, but sadly my two results were sort of at opposite end of the spectrum of possible results from each other. I could take an average and at least be half right. Also, the booklet said to "titrate rapidly" - doesn't that defeat the point of a titration, which by definition should be a slow process? (And, by the way, you can stop sniggering at the back.)
While I was doing that, in fact, I heard Dr Baddelley talking about him driving the minibus for the Visiting Day on Saturday. Apparently it would be the first time that he'd driven a minibus since he crashed one earlier in the year, which as you can imagine just filled me with confidence.
The amount of junk that people leave on my bench is staggering. I have now amassed a glass tube, a pair of tongs, three rubber corks, a separation funnel, an asbestos tile, a microspatula, two red screws, a metal ring, and a vague bit of glassware stuffed with cotton wool and polystyrene.
Finally, though, my class is over for the term, and it's only twenty-eight hours until I meet Whitney in Oxford again <¦-D (I'll spare everyone from the embarrassment of an LJ counter.) I think I'll go and shower to clear off all the grime picked up in the lab. It's about that time of year anyway!
