...So begins Iron Savior's new album (I'll put it in my shared files when I get back, [livejournal.com profile] ga101 - and by the way, you haven't updated in ages - get to it). I don't really have much to say for the last two days, so I'm just going to go on about music until you give up and scroll down, or alternatively up if you're the kind of person that likes to read your Friends page chronologically.

Now that they've changed direction slightly and finished the storyline that went through their first four albums, it's noticeable that they're more free to write songs about everything else - so they don't sound quite as silly to anyone who isn't in to them. But if appearance is anything to go by, it seems almost now as if they're trying to be a replacement for Metallica - not that that's a bad thing, because Metallica is rather easily replaceable.

I also bought Timo Kotipelto's solo album "Coldness" while in America, it's reasonable enough for someone whose name makes him sound like he should be in a Square Enix game. (Hello to everyone still reading this.) However, he doesn't seem to find it necessary to write lyrics that actually fit the tune, and his material doesn't really seem as entertaining most of the time. Having said that, there are a few good songs on it. It also ends really strangely - it fades out then in again, slowly gets awfully distorted, then stops dead. It's most odd.

I was left alone in charge of the order-taking, cooking and serving at work today, and the golf club is still standing. Lunch was much busier than normal as well, I prefer it when it's quieter because I get paid for standing at a hatchway and occasionally putting something in a dishwasher. They seem to need me more than ever now, though, because the cook who treated me like a grandson has left. I'll have to ask why she walked out - she was nice even though she was often slightly batty.
