Three days left.
Jan. 9th, 2005 09:15 pmThere are scientists in Japan that have made quantum gates that are open for greater periods of time than the Jack Cole Building. It was closed again this weekend because the door still doesn't work, so I've been in the first year lab most of the weekend, alone in a room of more than 100 computers, playing music streamed off my hard drive to the empty building. Still, at least I know things about computer science now. My first exam is on Wednesday, and despite what I thought earlier, it should be fairly easy to memorise the bare bones and then make up the rest as I go along.
However, I gave up on that fairly early on today, and came back to watch episodes of Bottom with people. Underneath the crudity of it all it's actually fantastic - it's like an adult version of Tom and Jerry, with episodes consisting of half an hour of Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson hitting each other with frying pans. Not only that, but no matter how bad you feel about yourself, watching it makes you feel better because you're not Richie.
I then infected my computer with a virus while trying to download a no-CD crack for Civilization 2: Test of Time, but everything seems to be working now. I just need to work out an alternative way of getting it to run without the CD, then we can probably have a game over Resnet.
