I don't know what the country has against me getting fish and chips, but we've now tried twice to get to this place that's apparently very good for them and it's always been a disaster. The first time was when Whitney and her mother had gone to stay at some place called the Caramel Aubergine or something, leaving me alone with her father and brothers, and we drove the half-hour there to be told that they closed at 2pm (it was ten past).

Today, I woke up to find that one of our clients needed to change some vital things around for being on the news the next morning, so I worked on that for four hours, rushed out to lunch, where we immediately got stuck in traffic, crawled through for a while, reached the end, realized that we didn't have enough time to have lunch if we were to be back for people to go to the airport, and just went home instead.

Therefore, by way of consolation, I would like to present to you a pudding that we made from an ancient recipe the other day. It originally came from 1997 in my school's H.E. class (which they said stood for Home Economics, but we preferred to call it Hell on Earth). I'd never made it in a Bundt cake pan before, but I think it's the best one we've ever made. I particularly like the toffee-volcano sort of effect.

At some point in the next thirty hours, depending on where you are... happy new year.
