That's a good one. I did put up with about a year on the FA forums before concluding they were all idiots, and I hadn't previously realized that most of the hate of the community is not because of its subject but the astronomical social ineptitude of most of its participants. However, the people on that forum who loudly proclaim that they aren't furries tend to be somehow worse.

Some of them (us?) can be pretty normal, though. The real trouble with most of them is that they're all Americans :X

I think my view of America was a bit tarnished because of unfortunate timing - I started visiting several utterly dysfunctional forums at just about the time I moved there (FA, The Daily WTF, and b0st0n), so in my mind America was associated with increased levels of idiocy all round. (That last one is a legitimate concern, though - from reading it, it would seem that everyone who lives in this city is very loud, rude and/or sarcastic, and they seem to be very proud of that.)

It only just occured to me that whenever I'm around a furry and they say something stupid about SA I'm quick to point out that I'm a goon and they're wrong, but when SA says something stupid about furries I keep my goddamn mouth shut.
