davidnEven though the Internet's being strange, I'd better type this all out before it piles up and I forget it all.
Last night, after waiting for a while for Liying, she decided she was too tired to go out and I went to the Union to join the others. I didn't stay long, but just long enough to get beaten at DDR by someone called Ed, I think. It was a very close game - I had a better grade at the end, but he beat me marginally on points. It seems he can read the arrows faster, but I'm better on normal, human-speed tracks. Our paths will cross again.
[Alan Rickman voice:] I'll get you, Ed! <¦-)
The Societies Fayre was a great success, with a whole lot of new Sinners signing up - most attracted by Oli's offer of candy floss. "More stuff than you can shake a stick at - and we even give you the stick". The man's a genius. Paul was employed to man the toothrot centrifuge, and I wandered around with Sarah. Saw a couple of people I knew from last year at other stalls. I didn't join nearly as many societies this year - too many last time just didn't do anything.
On arriving back at the hall, I was instantly employed to teach someone else how to ceilidh-dance, which no doubt will come in useful later on tonight.
I had dinner with Liying this evening - she treated me to some sort of Chinese noodle dish and attempted to teach me how to use chopsticks. I think I did rather well - got about 90% of it in my mouth, and not much of the rest all over the floor. I'm still not sure how she feels about me, though. We arrange to meet each other as if we're going out, but when John saw us in the corridor and asked "Is this your girlfriend?", her response was to shout "No!" and kick him on the shins. Quite hard, in fact.
To sum up, I don't know what I should do, how others feel about me, or have any clue what's going on. In other words, things are pretty much normal.
