The first fire alarm of the year was this morning at 6:45. I don't remember having a planned one that early before. There's always time to throw on a jacket and trousers before leaving the room, though. After standing outside in the cold for about half an hour, Donald and I contemplated going to New Hall to sit down, but soon relief arrived in the form of the Warden (the only time that people are glad to see him, no doubt) who told us that we "had all done very well", which makes a change from the usual "You're all useless, I hate the lot of you. Sod off."
