An additional mention has to go to kjorteo, who is currently scanning in some comics he made when he was twelve and mocking them mercilessly, and whose choice of sound effect for a crash-landing in the latest episode was "PISH".

As I said, trying to channel my 11-year-old self to question what was going on in my own head, I think I was trying to rip off the SNES Star Fox collision sound. The less serious one, like if you barrel roll too low and clip your wing against the ground or something, and also when you get hit by an enemy laser.
