It's a Knockout
Apr. 25th, 2010 07:58 pmIt's very rare for me to laugh to the point of utter helplessness, but we got caught up watching a heap of British comedy chat shows yesterday and Sean Lock and Jack Dee's discussion of It's a Royal Knockout was the highlight of the lot.
It's not going to have the same effect on you because I've just built it up so much, but the discussion about this... astonishing spectacle of giant coconuts on legs pelting about a field in pursuit of Cliff Richard dressed up as a leek made me completely lose it - I couldn't breathe or see from crying with laughter, and probably nearly did actually lose conciousness.
A further clip illustrating the general mood of the programme was shown slightly earlier on in the same video. Being away from it has made me realize how much I love Britain - we used to be so good at gloriously stupid things like this.

(I also need to watch this entire clip. The show looks brilliant.)

Now we have Youtube to sort things like that out...
